We can’t always describe our excitement when finding a new Instagram user that inspires us through photography. It’s the power of images that even in the digital era of Instagram photos makes us feel speechless, simply wanting to let the photographer talk through visually. Another case that we proudly present is @vittomotta, or else, Vittorio Motta from Torino, Italy. Vittorio has a unique way of treating life and everyday images and that’s what we love about him. Remember, life is not always black and white!
What does photography mean to you?
For me photography is a way to see the world with another point of view, probably a world without sadness, problems. I imagine a world that is not black and white but full of colors, joy and fun.
When was the first picture you’ve ever taken?
Probably in secondary school with my dad’s camera during a travel in Spain.
How do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in everyday life and situations. The world always talk to us in some way, so I just try to listen and with a little bit of imagination I translate that in my pictures.
You seem to love editing pictures with speech and emoji bubbles. How do you decide what to add in each picture?
The first things that I watch in each picture are the movements, the facial expressions of the people inside the photo, so in this way I begin to imagine maybe what they are thinking about, what they are saying and then I add the different giddies.
What’s the secret balance between the original picture and the edit?
I think that the secret balance between the original picture and the edit is connected with the people inside them. In both photos in fact the people are the same but the things that change are their thoughts, feelings, situations in which they are involved that I try to image and express with the giddies after the edit.
We love the fact that you add colors (even with the bubbles) to your photos. Was this on purpose to make the pictures more colourful?
Actually not really. The fact that my pictures are also colorful is only a direct consequence of my way of edit them with giddies. My first purpose is to give life to a picture in the true sense of the word, make the people inside the photo like if they are talking in real and create awkward situations with the help of the giddies.
Which software/apps do you use to edit your pictures?
I edit my pictures with an app that is called “giddyfingers” with which i add the different giddies on my images. Then to correct the light, the shadows, the colors of my pictures i generally use two apps: “VSCOcam” and “afterlight” that I think are the best apps in the field of the photo editing. Sometimes I also use “Photoshop” when I have, for example, to change the background of a picture or when I have to add other elements that they are not present in the original photo.
When did you join Instagram?
I joined Instagram about one year ago.
Is there an Instagram photography tip that you would like to share with us?
I think that the real secret behind the mysterious world of Instagram is the perseverance, so I suggest to have a sort of balance in the publication of the photos. For example, for me, the right number is two pictures per day one in the morning and one in the late afternoon and not publish all the photos together because in that way I think that the sense of the publication is lost. If you want, look also at these five amazing profiles that I think are the perfect representation of what Italy is in real: @mformarica @ill_fato @alexsenzaterra @laurinogram and @napoli_naples
Which hashtag do you use more?
#torino #turin #giddyfingers #giddyfingersapp #igersitalia #italia365
Which one of your photos would you consider your most interesting for you personally?
In my opinion the most interesting photo in my instagram’s gallery is the one below because I think it represents the real essence of my work, of my way to see the world always full of surprises and colors.
What’s your biggest dream relevant to photography?
About photography in general, my dream is to travel, meet new people, immortalize amazing moments with my camera and my iphone. Instead for what it concerns Instagram the main dream is to become suggested.
Printl is all about the power of keeping your memories alive. Would you support the idea of having your Instagram photos printed and delivered at your place?
Of course! Print a photo is a way to remember a precise moment and make it real again in our mind, so I totally support the idea of having my own Instagram photos printed and delivered at home. Like you said it’s all about keep our memories alive and printl make it happen.
